MAKING SENSE OF CONSTRUCTION

The Oldbury Partnership

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Oldbury Partnership challenges the way that UK construction operates. Whether you are a client, a contractor or a supplier our unique and refreshing approach can transform the performance of the construction supply chain. Since 1994 when Sir Michael Latham set a target of 30% savings in construction costs, UK construction has managed to increase real costs by over 25%.

Britain is one of the most expensive places in the world to construct a building. We do however have some of the worlds leading architects and engineers so we should be able to construct more efficiently than most. The Oldbury Partnership can help to address this discrepancy.

If you are seeking to save 2% or 5% or even 10% of your input costs then we are not for you. We believe that savings of 20% and more are achievable through proper integration of the supply chain and the subsequent benefits which that can bring. It is only by acknowledging the size of the gains that are possible that the commitment will come to make fundemental change happen.

And a 20% saving is just the start; once the creative power of the supply chain is unleashed then further improvements in price, quality, safety and environmental performance will follow. These benefits will include improvements not yet even envisaged.
